PM Modi inaugrated the Mission School of Excellence

  • The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi launched Mission Schools of Excellence at Trimandir, Adalaj, Gujarat.
  • The Mission has been conceived with a total outlay of 10,000 Crores. The Mission will help strengthen education infrastructure in Gujarat by setting up new classrooms, smart classrooms, computer labs and overall up gradation of the infrastructure of schools in the State.

India’s fourth longest tunnel of Indian Railways

  • Railways have executed a breakthrough of the 10.18 km-long tunnel in the Kashmir rail-link project.
  • It is the country’s fourth longest tunnel of Indian Railways situated between Sangaldan and Sumber stations on the ongoing Katra-Banihal Section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project.

Anurag Singh Thakur launched mega cleanliness drives

  • A month-long nationwide Swachh Bharat 2022 programme was launched by Shri Anurag Singh Thakur at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh from 1st October 2022.
  • 84 lakh kg of plastic waste has been collected from all Districts across the country in a matter of just 18 days under Swachh Bharat 2022

Minister Rajnath Singh launches ABC for Defense Startups programme

  • Defense Excellence – Defense Innovation Organization (iDEX DIO) has designed a programme named Acclimatization Boot Camp (ABC) programme was launched by Rajnath Singh, minister of defense, at DefExpo 2022 at Gandhinagar.
  • The aim of this boot camp is to acclimatize a startup with civilian technology, find a use case in defense, and help apply for grants and procurements for defense.

 Government plans to set a lounge for sanitation workers

  • In Tamil Nadu, the Chief Secretary has ordered that a lounge should be set up for the sanitation workers working in all the government offices.
  • The Chief Secretary has said that the scheme will be implemented through the Chief Government Officers.

India’s largest Bio-CNG plant Started in Punjab

  • Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann along with Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri dedicated to the country India’s largest Bio-CNG plant built on 20 acres of land at a cost of Rs 230 crore.
  • The annual straw consumption of this unit will be 1.30 laky tones and the project will help in solving the problem of paddy straw burning, said by the minister.

 Si-trang Storm 2022

  • 2022- Cyclone Chitrang is expected to form in October after Cyclone Asani formed in the Bay of Bengal in early May.
  • The Indian Meteorological Department has announced that the first storm of the Northeast Monsoon season is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal on October 24.
  • Thailand has given its name to Cyclone Chitrong which formed in the Bay of Bengal.

A new Controller General of Accounts (CGA) has been appointed

  • Ms Bharati Das took charge as the new Controller General of Accounts (CGA) and she is the 27th  Controller General of Accounts (CGA), Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
  • Ms Bharati Das, a 1988-batch Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer, is appointed by the Government of India as the Controller General of Accounts (CGA), Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, with effect from October 18, 2021.

New type of virus BF.7 was detected in India

  • The new BF.7 type of corona virus was first detected in northwest China. After that, it spread to America, Britain, Australia and Belgium.
  • In this case, the test conducted by the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Center has confirmed the presence of BF.7 type of corona was detected in India for the first time.

A more number of asteroids discovered near the Earth

  • The European Space Agency has identified 30,000 asteroids are found near the Earth’s orbit, many of which are meteorites that have been discovered in the last 10 years.
  • These asteroids found in our Earth at a distance of 45 million km. Astronomers have found that there are more than 10lakh such asteroids spread across the solar system.

New ‘software’ was launched in touch screen technology

  • I.T., Chennai has discovered new software for sensing the nature of images in touch screen technology.
  • They have discovered technology that allows fingers to sense the nature of objects and images displayed on a touch screen. ‘i.Dot’, sensors are attached in this technological device.

Thanjavur Plate, Hyderabad Haleem won the Best Award

  • An online poll was held on behalf of the Intellectual Property Office of India to select and award the best Geo-indication products in the country so far.
  • Thanjavur Plate of Tamil Nadu and Hyderabad Haleem of Telangana has won the award for the best products.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Awards

  • The Central Government had announced the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Awards-2021 to recognize the States, Union Territories and local bodies and beneficiaries who have implemented the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Awards.
  • In this case, Tamil Nadu has got the 3rd place in the category of state that has performed well in PMAY.

  • ICC Women’s T20 Ranking List was Published
  • Indian team’s star player Smriti Mandhana (730 rating point) has ranked 2nd position for the first time in the batting rankings.
  • Australian player Beth Mooney ranked 1st place (743 rating points) on the list. Another Australian Meg Lanning ranked 3rd place.
