Vande Bharat freight train to be launched soon

  • The Ministry of Railways is planning to launch the “Semi-High Speed ​​Vande Bharat Express” train service to transport goods at high speed, After the launch of the Vande Bharat Express train for passengers.
  • Ministry of Railways plans to run the first phase of Vande Bharat Freight Train between Delhi-NCR and Mumbai.

LEADS logistics index chart  Ranking 2022

  • LEADS (Logistics Ease Across Different States) 2022 was recently released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which aims to increase logistics efficiency across India.
  • LEADS evaluates on three metrics – Achievers (90% or higher), Fast Movers (80 to 90%), and Aspires (below 80%).

 PowerEX-2022

  • Cyber Security Exercise “PowerEX” was designed and organized jointly by (CERT-In) and Power-CSIRTs ,It helped officials working in power sector utilities to learn, practice and respond to the cyber threats.
  • The objective of the cyber security exercise is to “Recognize, Analyse & Respond to Cyber Incident in IT & OT Systems”.
  • Theme of the exercise is “Defending Cyber induced disruption in IT & OT infrastructure”.

INS Arihant makes a successful launch of SLBM

  • INS Arihant carried out a successful launch of a Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) on October 14, 2022.
  • The missile was tested to a predetermined range and impacted the target area in the Bay of Bengal with very high accuracy.
    • INS Arihant (SSBN 80) is a designated S2 Strategic Strike Nuclear Submarine.
    • Arihant was launched on 26 July 2009, the anniversary of Vijay Diwas (Kargil War Victory Day) by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The Prime Minister will dedicate 75 digital banking units in 75 districts to the nation on October 16

  • Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, as part of the Union budget speech for 2022-23, had announced the setting up of the 75 DBUs in 75 districts of India to commemorate the 75 years of independence of our country.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate 75 Digital Banking Units (DBUs) to the nation on October 16, 2022, to deepen financial inclusion in the country.

INS TARKASH PARTICIPATES IN IBSAMAR VII

  • The 7th India-Brazil-South Africa Naval Exercise was held at Port Gqeberha (also known as Port Elizabeth), South Africa from 10 to 12 October 2022. Missile-carrying INS Tarkash, Chetak helicopter and MARCOS special forces participated in this exercise on behalf of the Indian Navy.
  • The objective of the exercise is to strengthen maritime ties, enhance joint military training, combat maritime crime, and secure maritime communications.

Vistara announces direct flight services between Pune-Singapore, to operate 4 weekly flights

  • Vistara has announced the launch of a new route between Pune and Singapore, beginning on December 2, 2022.
  • Vistara is an Indian airline headquartered at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. Vistara airline operated its first flight from New Delhi to Mumbai on January 9, 2015.

India’s First Siddha Medical University

  • Siddha University is going to be started in Annanagar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, for the first time in India, which an initial allocation of Rs.2 crores has been made.
  • Also 100 Siddha Medical Health Centers will be set up in Tamil Nadu and a 50 hospital for Siddha Medical College in Palani will be started soon.

Road traffic lights in Bangalore have been changed into heart shape

  • On the occasion of World Heart Day, Manipal Hospital, Bangalore Municipal Corporation and Traffic Police have jointly introduced heart-shaped red lights at road signals instead of red lights in consideration of heart health.
  • In major cities in Bengaluru, 15 signals have been introduced and awareness messages about heart health are being shared through loudspeakers.

  • Country’s 5th Vande Bharat Rail with state-of-the-art facilities has been launched to operate from Chennai on November 10, 2023.
  • Train route from Chennai to Mysore via Bengaluru. PM Modi flagged off country’s 4th Vande Bharat Express train service in Himachal Pradesh on 13/10/2022

President Droupadi Murmu flags off passenger train from Meghalaya and Nagaland

  • The President inaugurated Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s Rail-Fed Petroleum Storage Depot at Moinarbond in Silchar and also She inaugurated two sections of  National Highways connecting Silchar to Badarpur and Gohpur to Holong of Assam.
  • Murmu also flagged -off a passenger train to connect Meghalaya and Nagaland. This train will run between Shokhuvi in Nagaland to Mendipathar in Meghalaya via Guwahati.

New railway  station will be constructed soon in Chennai

  • A new bus stand is being constructed at a cost of Rs.314 crores in 67 acres of land at Klambag, next to Vandalur, Chennai.
  • In this case, the Chennai Integrated Transport Group has decided to construct a new railway station and air corridor for the convenience of travelers going to Klambakkam.

Bhubaneswar MP Aparajitha Sarangi was elected to the IPU board

  • Member of Lok Sabha from Bhubaneswar, Aparajita Charangi, has been elected as an executive committee member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
  • The Member of Parliament from Odisha was elected as a member by securing 12 out of 18 votes in the election held in Kigali, Rwanda.

  • BCCI is planning to host the women’s IPL series in March 2023 with 5 teams.
  • It is said that the team may have 18 players each, out of which 6 are foreign players, and BCCI plans to make the team names based on region like South and North.

  • Under-7 Open and Girls Chess Championship held at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
  • In that tournament Tamil Nadu player, Sharwanika, who is studying in 2nd std at Panchayat Union Primary School in Ariyalur District, Wodeyarpalayam, won all the 11 rounds and won the champion title with 11 points.

  • ISSF World Championship held in Cairo, Egypt,In women’s 25m pistol team junior competition China won the gold and  Korea ranked silver.
