As many as 1831 schools in Karnataka record zero enrolments for the 2022-23 session
The pandemic may have subsided but schools in Karnataka are still feeling its wrath as more schools are closing down in the state following zero admission. In 2021, some 966 schools had to shut shop but the number has surprisingly increased this year.
Out of these 1831 schools, 523 are government schools and 176 are government-aided schools. They of course won’t get closed thanks to the grant they receive from the government. The crisis is actually reserved for 1132 private schools which might shut down any moment following zero admission into them.
These 1132 private schools include 367 lower primary schools, 466 higher primary schools, and 299 high schools.
Apart from schools, some 745 pre-university colleges have also suffered zero enrolments this academic year.
What are the reasons behind this massive closure of schools?
The covid pandemic is indeed one of the factors but there is more to it. Many such schools suffer from poor quality of teaching and infrastructural resources apart from growing competition affecting their business.

The National Statistical Office (NSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, has released a report that showcases the health and data of employment in the formal sector in the country. The Report has consistently been published since April 2018.
The survey uses stats and information enlisted under 3 major government schemes such as the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), Employees’ State Insurance (ESI), and National Pension Scheme (NPS).
DU Admission 2022-23: list of vacant seats to be released tomorrow, October 26
Delhi University is scheduled to release the list of vacant seats, if there are any, tomorrow morning October 26. Once open, Students can change and arrange their preferences by visiting the official DU website — ugadmission.uod.ac.in.
Over 54,000 students have already taken admissions to Delhi University for the upcoming academic session scheduled to begin in November 2022.
Students who haven’t submitted the admission fees by the deadline of 2 pm on October 25 are barred from participating in any further rounds of the DU admission process known as CSAS.
