Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to address the National Conference on Tourist Police Scheme tomorrow, 19th October

The agenda is to implement uniform Tourist Police Scheme at pan India level to provide safer ecosystem to the foreign and domestic tourists in and around tourist destinations across the country. This idea is to change the safety & security related perception of India at global level with a larger goal of attracting more foreign tourists and currency. Ministry of Tourism in co-ordination with MHA and BPR&D is organizing the conference.

National Maritime Heritage Complex coming up at Lothal; PM to review site work progress today, October 18

Started in March 2022, National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) is going to be developed as an international tourist destination at a cost of around Rs.3500 crore.
Lothal – one of the prominent cities of the Harappan civilization – is known for the discovery of the oldest man-made dockyard. A maritime heritage complex in Lothal is going to be a fitting tribute to the city’s historical legacy and heritage.
It will have several innovative and unique features such as Lothal mini recreation to recreate Harappan architecture and lifestyle and 4 theme parks namely Memorial theme park, Maritime and Navy theme park, Climate theme park and Adventure and Amusement theme park. The project will also include World’s tallest lighthouse museum; fourteen galleries highlighting India’s maritime heritage starting from the Harappan times till now; Coastal states pavilion displaying diverse maritime heritage of states and UTs; among others.
