Work From Home May Return in Delhi – This is the Reason? As the air quality in the national capital Delhi becomes worse to the ‘severe plus’ category, employees may be given the opportunity to work from home, reports explain. Generally, when the Air Quality Index (AQI) crosses 450 in Delhi, the fourth phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is triggered.
In this case, 50% of employees in public, municipal, and private offices may be allowed to work from home. Apart from this, the GRAP in Delhi recommends restrictions including the closure of the educational institution and the use of vehicles on an odd-even basis. Accordingly, the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi is currently close to 200.
Generally, Delhi’s air quality deteriorates at the beginning of the garbage burning season. Considering this, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government announced a 15-point Winter Action Plan to control air pollution in the capital.
