 ‘Niveshak Didi’ – India’s first floating Financial Literacy Camp

  • IPPB, in collaboration with Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) under the aegis of Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), launched the initiative called ‘Niveshak Didi’ to promote Financial Literacy “By the women, for the women” concept, in daal lake in Srinagar, J&K.
  • Niveshak Didi’s initiative was based on the ideology of women for women. And this is India’s first Floating Financial Literacy Camp, our Prime Minister Modi has highly appreciated this great event.

Dance drama based on the life of Raja Rammohun Roy

  • The father of modern Indian society Raja Rammohun Roy’s life’s dance drama will be organized in the evening of 5th and 6th November, 2022 at Kartavya Path and India Gate (Central Vista).
  • It’s Titled ‘Yugpurush Raja Rammohun Roy’, the program is based on the theme ‘Nari Samman’, which is being organised by Raja Ram Mohun Roy Library Foundation.

Irene Docker was selected as Miss North East India

  • North East beauty pageant was held in Nagaland’s capital Kohima in which 14 contestants from North East states participated in the final round.
  • Irene Dakar from Meghalaya won the title of Miss North East India by answering the questions correctly in the pageant.

Independent India’s first voter passes away at 106

  • The country’s first voter 106-year old Master Shyam Saran Negi passed away in November 5, 2022 due to prolonged illness. He was lived in Kalpa of the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh.
  • The EC also mourned Negi’s demise and called him a “man with exceptional faith in democracy”.

  • U.S. News and World Report have released its ranking of the best countries in the world.
  • And India ranks first in the world’s cheapest price index.

World Travel Market expo 2022

  • World Travel Market (WTM) 2022 from 7th to 9th November in London which is one of the largest international travel exhibitions. The theme of this year`s exhibition is ‘The Future of Travel Starts Now’.
  • Ministry of Tourism, Government of India will participate with a total of 16 stakeholders, including from State Governments, other Central Ministries, and the objective is to showcase the diverse tourism products and services including Medical Value travel, luxury trains and the gamut of tourism products to the international business community.

Indigo is now world’s 7th largest airline

  • In terms of daily departures IndiGo become the world’s seventh largest airline with over 50 percent market share.
  • Currently, the airline operates more than 1,600 flights daily and has a domestic market share of over 57 percent. Negi also said two more ships would be added at the beginning of the next financial year.

New mobile app to track wild animal in Kerala

  • The state government is planning to develop a new online mobile app for the convenience of Ayyappa pilgrims who trek to Sabarimala.
  • Through this app, the devotees can know about providing protection from wild animals and drinking water facilities, medical facilities, places where accommodation facilities are available, places where dangerous animals are moving on the forest roads.

Karnataka’s Mangalore International Airport has been renamed

  • Mangalore Airport in Bajpe near Mangalore in Dakshina Kannada district will be renamed as “Mangaluru International Airport” from December, 2022.
  • The name of Mangalore city is changed to `Mangaluru’ followed by “Mangaluru International Airport”.

Baroda Thiranga plus Deposit Scheme

  • Bank of Baroda has introduced a new scheme called Baroda Thiranga Plus Deposit Scheme for its customers and through this scheme they can avail higher fixed interest rates.
  • The scheme has a 399-day maturity period and senior citizens will earn interest at 7.25 per cent and general public at 6.75 per cent on callable deposits. The non-callable service charges range from 7 to 7.50 percent.

A  stone  with historical symbols were discovered in Ariyalur district

  • A piece of stone used for washing clothes on the banks of a big lake in Damkudam village near Tha Bhaur, Ariyalur district has a dagger-like symbol engraved on it, and another symbol next to it. Also some other symbols were carved on the back of the stone.
  • Since the Sangam period, Tamil people ​​have followed the method of recording history by inscribing symbols on stones. so that the archaeologists says study about the stone will be conducted soon.

A 132-year-old tunnel has been discovered in the state of Maharashtra

  • A 132-year-old British-era 200-meter-long tunnel has been discovered at a government hospital in Byculla area of ​​Mumbai, Maharashtra.
  • This tunnel is under the Sir T.M.Petit women and children Hospital and the hospital was opened in March 1892.
