India carries successful training launch of Agni -3

  • India carried out a successful training launch of an Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile, Agni-3 from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha on 23rd Nov 2022.
  • The Defense Ministry said that the launch was carried out for a predetermined range and validated all operational parameters of the system.

Ferry Craft ‘Manjula’ (Yard 786)

  • Ferry Craft ‘Manjula’ (Yard 786) was launched by Shri Binod Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary Transport, in West Bengal on 23 Nov 2022 at M/s Shalimar Works Ltd, Kolkata, and West Bengal.
  • Already Six out of Seven Ferry Craft have been delivered at Port Blair, Visakhapatnam and Mumbai. These Ferry Craft are built with a service life of 25 years. The Ferry Craft will provide impetus to operational and logistics requirements of Indian Navy.

Entrepreneurship Cell and Centre of Innovation (COI)

  • The union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw has inaugurated the Entrepreneurship Cell and Centre of Innovation (COI) at the Delhi campus of the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), the Telecom R&D Centre of the Government of India, on nov 23, 2022.
  • COI has been established to spur indigenous innovation and entrepreneurship in various domains of Telecom like IoT/M2M, AI/ML, 5G, etc. and by encouraging local startups to play a significant role in strengthening the overall technological framework in the country.

JOINT HADR EXERCISE SAMANVAY – 2022

  • Indian Air Force is conducting the Annual Joint Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Exercise ‘Samanvay 2022’ from 28 November 2022 to 30 November 2022 at Air Force Station Agra.
  • Samanvay 2022 will promote a synergistic approach towards HADR by various national and regional stakeholders involved in Disaster Management including the Civil Administration, the Armed Forces.

Sri Lankan government passed the new law regarding drug possession

  • On October 19th, the Narcotics, Opium and Dangerous Drugs Prohibition Bill was passed in the Parliament of Sri Lanka.
  • And currently, the government of Sri Lanka has announced that the death punishment or life imprisonment can be given for the possession or sale of more than 5 grams of ice-type drug. This Act has come into effect in Sri Lanka from 24 November 2022.

Dubai ‘hypertower’ will be the world’s tallest residential structure

  • Plans have been unveiled to build a 100-storey ‘hypertower’ in Dubai, which the developers claim will be the world’s tallest residential building.
  • Named ‘Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences’, the hypertower will have diamond-shaped spires at the top to resemble a crown.
  • The building will house a dedicated concierge team, offering services such as daycare, bodyguard, chauffeur and private chef.

4-Laning of Bhiwani-Hansi road section was approved

  • Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari approved the 4-Laning of Bhiwani-Hansi road section of NH-148B under Bharatmala Pariyojana in Bhiwani and Hisar districts of Haryana with a budget of Rs.1322.13 Crore.
  • The development of this section would also improve the overall efficiency of the long route traffic and freight movement that would ensure smooth and safe traffic flow as well as substantial reduction in travel time and reduced Vehicle Operating Cost (VOC).

  • Coimbatore district was created with Coimbatore as the capital on 24th November 1804 for the administrative convenience of the British.

  • Former chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency Lt. Gen. Asim Muneer has been appointed as Pakistan’s new army chief staff on 24 November 2022.
  • Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed the new Chief Army Staff, succeeding General Qamar Bajwa.

Anwar Ibrahim elected as a new Prime Minister of Malaysia

  • The 15th Parliamentary General Election for 222 parliamentary constituencies in Malaysia was held on November 19, 2022.
  • Due to no party got a majority in the general election King Abdullah of Malaysia announced that Anwar Ibrahim as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia and he will take over as Prime Minister on 24th November at 5pm Indian Time.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

  • The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is an effort to prevent violence against women such as domestic violence, sexual violence and discrimination, power violence, abortion and child marriage. It is observed on 25th November every year.
