Age Limit

  • AFCAT Flying Batch: 20 to 24 Years as on 01/01/2023.
  • Ground Duty Technical / Non-Technical Batch: 20 to 26 Years as on 01/01/2023.

Educational Qualifications

  • Flying Branch
    • Candidates must have passed Mathematics and Physics at the 10+2 level with a minimum of 60% in each subject. and
    • Graduation with a minimum of 60 percent or equivalent in a three-year degree programme in any discipline from a recognised university.
    • OR
    • A minimum of 60% or equivalent in a BE/B Tech degree (four-year programme) from a recognised university.
    • OR
    • Candidates who have passed Section A and B of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India examinations with a minimum of 60% or equivalent from a recognised university.
  • Ground Duty (Technical) Branch
    • Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}:
    • Candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level, as well as a four-year degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from a recognised university OR have passed Sections A and B of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India, or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:-

    • (ab) Education:
      • Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with a minimum of 50% in any field, including integrated courses delivering PG (single degree with no exit or lateral entry) and a minimum of 60% in graduation in any subject.
  • NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch)
    • On or after December 1, 2017, NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate obtained. At the 10+2 level, a minimum of 60% in math and physics is required. Graduates with a minimum three-year degree course in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR BE/B Tech degree (four-year course) from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR Candidates who have passed Section A and B of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Marital Status

Candidates under the age of 25 must be single at the time of the course’s start. Widows/widowers, as well as divorcees (with or without encumbrances) under the age of 25, are ineligible. An applicant who marries after submitting his application, even if he is successful on the SSB or medical, will be ineligible for training. A candidate who marries during his training time will be released and must reimburse the government for all expenses incurred on his behalf. Married applicants over the age of 25 are eligible to apply, however, they will not be supplied with married housing or be allowed to live with their families during the training time.
